Applied Wing Chun kung fu
VIRGINIA BEACH
REAL, PRACTICAL WING CHUN
Wing Chun is a martial art that relies heavily on simplicity, directness, leverage and physics. You train it by learning a piece, trying to understand what you want to accomplish, and working supporting drills and exercises for proper feeling as well as strength building. This is how the movement is committed to permanent muscle memory and it becomes second nature.
Our biggest asset is our ability to adjust. We can adjust distance and angles according to an aggressors own distance, size, or movement. Wing Chun does not block, instead we cover an area and simultaneously hit back maximizing the impact by utilizing the weight and energy of the opponent's attack. When we hit back, the punch is structurally backed up all the way to the ground. All of the power is absorbed at the point of impact.
This style is not fancy looking but it is practical and effective. Not every one learns the same way, but anyone willing to devote the time and put in the work can learn to fight with it. The important thing is to practice with the right idea in mind to keep the training on course.
If it is functional, then it has to be right.
